Elder McKay Horsley

Hey everyone! Just another week here at the MTC. It was super fun because we had the 12 apostles here all week, and on friday we got to see Elder Christofferson speak. That was really cool and he talked about the importance of the Book of Mormon. Chinese is also going along super well. We got some new people in our district and they only know Chinese, so it's been really fun to get to talk to them. They barely understand what we're saying though because our tones are so off. I'm also not in a trio anymore. Elder Harding got switched to be companions with a new guy named elder tien. He is super solid at Chinese, so it's been super fun to have him here. He's also a collegiate volleyball player, so it's been really fun to talk to him about that. This week we had a lesson entirely in Chinese where we taught the first vision, and that went very well. Hey everyone! Sorry I didn't get an email out last week, but I'll make up for it with this email and a bunch of pictures. Anyways these past two weeks have been good, there were a rough couple days, but besides that it's been great. We celebrated Elder Klevins and Elder Godfreys birthday this past week and that was way fun. Elder Godfrey lives in Idaho and his mom baked him a cake and sent it to him, but that thing got absolutely throttled in delivery. It showed up as warm cake slop but we still ate it and had a great day. Two days latter we celebrated Elder Klevins and his mom sent him like this spinning birthday candle thing, but we didn't have a lighter. He lives in provo though, so he got his mom to come throw a lighter over the fence so he could light the candle, but little did we know there would be tons of smoke. We all got are bedsheets off and started airing out his room so we didn't have to make the whole building evacuate when the fire alarm went off. It ...

Hey everyone! This week has probably been my best week in the MTC so far. I feel like I'm really settling into things and starting to learn Mandarin so that's good. I've also been getting super tan from being outside so much so that's been way good. - We have an elder in our district named Elder Godfrey who is super funny. Everyone either calls him Godfrey, Dogfrey, or Rigby (he's from Rigby Idaho). He keeps dropping the most hilarious comments out of nowhere and it's making my day. For example were just talking one night before going to bed and there was a moment where no one talked for a good 2 minutes, and he just chimes right in and says "You know guys sometimes we do the right thing for the wrong reason" he then proceeded to talk about how he just loved to fight people but he doesn't do it in a noble manner most of the time. - We helped escort all of the new elders into the MTC this week and it was such a good time.
