SALMON! YOU DID MY DIVORCE

Hello everyone. Welcome back to my biweekly every once in a while email. This week was good but we had some difficult parts to it as well. Sadly our most progressing friend decided she no longer wanted to meet with us and that she was going to rejoin the Catholic church. This is tough because we have been meeting with her for like 3 transfers now. She was so elect but I guess everything is according to the lord's plan. Anyways we had one last lesson with her this week and on the way down the elevator after the lesson we saw this group of like 50 year old lady's finishing like an old ladys night or something. One of the ladies looks at our member and just drunkenly yells, "SALMON YOU DID MY DIVORCE!" I immediately pretty much burst into tears laughing cause it was so unexpected and she just started going off on her divorce with Brother Salmon. Anyways what a wonderful way of ending 4+ months meeting with her. This week on Sunday I gave a 20 minute talk in Chinese at church. You know I used to think talking in church was hard and a lot of work but it adds quite a layer to it all when you do it in a language you don't know. I ended up just writing everything down cause I knew I couldn't go up to the pulpit and freestyle for 20 minutes, so I wrote quite a wonderful, soul provoking talk about President Nelson's talk "Think Celestial" went up and proceeded to butcher it for 20 minutes ( : Talk reviews from the church members: Peter Chen (well known for disliking people and anything in general): I couldn't understand anything because you literally never stop at punctuation. Martin (friend I was sitting next to): Me: "Martin, could you understand at least like 60% of that?" Martin: "Not too much" Me: "Thanks for keeping it real Martin" Martin: (after said wants to start meeting with missionaries now) Lucia: "Thank you for your wonderful thoughts today Elder Horsley" Proceeds to summarize my entire talk so at least she understood it. I think Lucia's the only one who knows what she is talking about, and although Martin's comment was just objectively wrong at least the spirit touched him and now we are meeting with him now (: Anyways I love you all! Work is going good here in Calgary but I just never really know what to write about in these things besides the funny stuff that happens. Our friends are great and we have a father and daughter progressing who are the best people ever. Please pray for Jack and Jesse. They definitely have been able to feel the spirit and we are so happy to be meeting with them. I love hearing from you all and although I don't always reply I always read everything you send. - Elder Horsley
