Merry Christmas!
Hey everyone! I’m back with an email and a lot has happened like the last 3 weeks (lol sorry for not writing it is possibly my least favorite thing ever).
So I am actually in an English speaking area now! I got transferred to a place named Medicine Hat. It’s a city with like 60,000 people but it is in the middle of nowhere. Nothing is close to this place. It’s awesome though and I have had so much fun here so far. Now I know what like 50% of you are thinking so far. Wow McKay you’re supposed to be Chinese Speaking right? You must have messed up big time to get kicked out of that. Wrong. The allotment for Chinese speaking missionaries here is 8, but we only have 3 areas. This means if there are no trios, 2 missionaries will always be in English areas (right now me and Elder Liu). It’s been awesome though and it’s super weird to go to an English speaking church meeting. My new companions are Elder Forinash and Prendergast.
We came into the area right after there wasn’t much work done, so we really didn’t have any friends we were teaching. And since it is a smallish town, we are door knocking a ton. We have probably knocked more than a 1000 doors since being here. But it was cool though since we met this guy named Sopea from Cambodia. He let us in and made us Herbal Tea, and we talked for a while and now we are teaching him! In the lesson he asked us to reach out to the missionaries in Cambodia to tell them to work harder and faster because “[his] people need Jesus.” He and his family are so cool, so please pray for them and Cambodia.
That is probably all I have today except for this:

There is a Christian Radio station here that has been playing tons of christmas music and we have been listening to that for the past little bit, and I kid you not this song plays so unreasonably often. Don’t ask me why it has like 2000 views on youtube. Objectively its a bad song. But go give it a listen. I went through the struggle of finding this on the Clerks computer this last week so it would mean a lot if you listened to my new favorite song (:
Anyways I’ve been thinking about this phrase in the Book of Mormon from Mosiah 2:41 “consider the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments.” I really find that to be true. I hope you get a chance to think about that as well.
