I've been hearing the rumors

Hello everyone and Happy New Years! I have caught hold of some of the rumors about me not writing emails and how I’m going to regret it, but in the words of a wise man “I live in the moment, not in the email” (it was me, I was that very man). Speaking of wise men, Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to everyone! I am very sorry if I have been the worst at answering back on emails and saying thank you for all you have done for me, but I really am thankful for each and every one of you. The Christmas and New Year’s wishes and gifts for Christmas mean so much to me! I will let you know they have been going to good use. I am now a Candy Crazed addict so thank you for feeding my new found addiction. This New Years and Christmas was great being here in The Hat. The members are amazing and have been feeding us like crazy. We’ve also been able to find lots of success with our friends recently! I think at the time of last writing we had give or take 0 friends we were teaching. We are now up to 5 and this next week should be 7. This has been awesome because we are being so blessed here in Medicine Hat. We met our friend Branko this last week from an ad for a free Book of Mormon that I had put up, and he is so amazing. He has been reading, came to church, and our member that looked like John Wick invited him over for dinner that night. We also have our friend named Brendon who we should be able to start teaching this week. While we were at a dinner at a members house one of their sons had a friend over for a band thing, and I saw he had a Dragon Ball Z keychain thing, so I told him it was cool and made a One Piece reference. This guy absolutely loved it, so we went onto dinner and it was probably one of the greatest missionary dinners ever. At the end we shared a spiritual message and asked if everyone was going to be at church. Everyone said yes except for Brendon (the non member), but I was speaking in church so I just threw up a longshot and told him I would specifically find a way to put his name into my talk if he came, thinking nothing of it. Plot twist, he came and it wasn’t even difficult to put his name in because I just wrote bullet points and went up and talked. I talked about the Book of Mormon and went to talk to him after and he said he loved it. I asked if he had a Book of Mormon, he said no, and then I asked if he wanted one, and he said for sure. So we got him one, he’s reading now, and wants to meet with us, but is not sure how to tell his parents, so we will keep you updated on that now. MORAL OF THE STORY: Watch Anime so that if you serve a mission you will be able to make pop culture references so that 17 year old weebs will want to come to church. Anyways the mission has been so awesome recently. I absolutely love being out here. I hope my lack of emails does not give anyone the idea that I don’t have anything to share or miracles from my weeks because we constantly do. I don’t think I have been happier than when I have been serving a mission and I am so so grateful that I can be doing this. Other fun stuff: I am English Speaking rn and President Davis told me I was not going back anytime soon, so catch my Chinese being real buhao (bad) in a second. My weight is going down, which means my vertical is going up. Basketball has been super fun. My Companions are amazing and I love them. Elder Prendergast and Forinash. Anyways love you all!

Just to start off the direct translation of 胖 means fat in Chinese, but it's a word used to describe anyone who is not skinny, so I am now 胖. I GOT MY TRAVEL PLANS! So anyways I fly to Canada on Thursday morning at 4:07 AM by myself, and I'm so excited. I have loved the MTC though. The people I met here have been awesome, and the amount of stuff I learned here about the gospel and Chinese has been awesome. The MTC will always have awesome memories associated with it in my mind. Also I will miss Elder Palmer a lot. He is such a cool dude, and my next companion is going to have a lot to live up too. This week me and some people in the district decided we were going to do push-ups for every word we miss out of our goal for the week. We've been doing 150 words per week with the tones and if we don't get them right, that's three pushups. Anyways I did 102 pushups on Tuesday, but this week I will do none. Provo MTC Week 1

Hey everyone this is my first week in the MTC and it's been good so far! I love my district and my companions so it has been super good to see these guys in person. Monday and Tuesday: These days were pretty fun because they were my last 2 days in the home MTC, and they were P-day and a travel day so I got to do a ton of fun stuff with my family before I left. I went golfing with my dad and Calder and we all played pretty bad but it was still super fun. We also went to Maize tacos with some uncles and cousin-uncles for the last time to say goodbye, and that was sad, but it was great to be with everyone who came. Wednesday: Showed up to the MTC and got dropped off which was pretty brutal. It was super sad to say goodbye to everyone. I got to meet my district and branch though and they are all super fun. Blythe's Wisdom

Hey everyone! This week has probably been my best week in the MTC so far. I feel like I'm really settling into things and starting to learn Mandarin so that's good. I've also been getting super tan from being outside so much so that's been way good. - We have an elder in our district named Elder Godfrey who is super funny. Everyone either calls him Godfrey, Dogfrey, or Rigby (he's from Rigby Idaho). He keeps dropping the most hilarious comments out of nowhere and it's making my day. For example were just talking one night before going to bed and there was a moment where no one talked for a good 2 minutes, and he just chimes right in and says "You know guys sometimes we do the right thing for the wrong reason" he then proceeded to talk about how he just loved to fight people but he doesn't do it in a noble manner most of the time. - We helped escort all of the new elders into the MTC this week and it was such a good time.
