I met Batman and spoke Chinese to a Ukrainian

Alright I think this week I am going to write my email like Elder Ezra Klevins serving in the Taiwan Taipei mission (could be Taidong idk) This week I met batman on the trains. I spoke Chinese to a Ukrainian and now she is interested in joining the Mandarin branch The Mandarin branch is no longer a branch. It is now a ward The newest member of the Varsity Mandarin ward is my guy Ernest. He is Roda's son we found back when I still spoke Mandarin. I have almost been English speaking as long as Mandarin speaking. My companion says my English is getting good and he can almost understand everything I say. Still in YSA and it's bumpin. I refuse to move until we baptize everyone we are teaching. (not true but I Probably will be here a few more months so keep on the lookout for Vito, Cruz, Nati, Rachel, Caman, Vasif, Frankie, Wyatt, Anna, DP, Mahsa, Prince and Isadora's baptisms) The one thing about YSA that wasn't bumpin this week was stake conference. Imagine this wonderful scene: 5 of our friends who make the 30-40 minute drive to pull up to stake confernce, and BOOOM: marriage and temple covenents for 2 hours. (this was 2 of there 1st times coming) It's ok tho hopefully they felt the spirit. Also this is the true church so if they put in effort they will figure it out. Speaking of boom. I went on exchanges with Elder Bang. He is a reincarnate of Carston Calder. We love you Carston I was a bouncer at a ukrainian party with Elder Bennett. I thought Elder Bennett was like an average brother in the branch, so I was cracking some humor around him like we were lifelong pals. Turns out he is a member of the 70. (He probably needed a break anyways from the rigors of "its an honor to meet you" and "may I shake your hand") Cut fabric with Madi and Garrett and came to the conclusion that sprite, 7up, and Ginger Ale are all the same things. Gave a training at DCM and promised blessings if we followed the spirit this week. (not shocking we got the blessings) A member of the YSA had big news to tell us, and I incorrectly assumed she was telling us shes pregnant. (Shes just going to Britain👆) We had Zone Conference and learned about the Sacrament. Our boy Wyatt missed church on sunday, but in his words, "I ate some bread and water this morning cause I couldn't be there." His heart's in the right place💪 I went slacklining because our members drive to Utah for dating, and asked if I wanted anything picked up. Shoutout Vish. Juggled at a BBQ and played Bocci Ball which reminded me of Uncle Hunter. Told them if they want a good date to follow uncle hunt and play some Bocci ball. I met Catherine (dont worry I checked the spelling with her too). She is literally my mother but a Buddhist. Also from the Maritimes. Spent many hours on the trains and downtown. I love telling people about the Gospel. 1 Thessalonians 5:19-20: 19 Quench not the Spirit. 20 Despise not prophesyings. Don't quench what the spirit tells you to do. His plan is better than yours. That's how we met Catherine, Cruz, Mahsa, and Isadora. - Your favorite English speaking missionary 马长老

Just to start off the direct translation of 胖 means fat in Chinese, but it's a word used to describe anyone who is not skinny, so I am now 胖. I GOT MY TRAVEL PLANS! So anyways I fly to Canada on Thursday morning at 4:07 AM by myself, and I'm so excited. I have loved the MTC though. The people I met here have been awesome, and the amount of stuff I learned here about the gospel and Chinese has been awesome. The MTC will always have awesome memories associated with it in my mind. Also I will miss Elder Palmer a lot. He is such a cool dude, and my next companion is going to have a lot to live up too. This week me and some people in the district decided we were going to do push-ups for every word we miss out of our goal for the week. We've been doing 150 words per week with the tones and if we don't get them right, that's three pushups. Anyways I did 102 pushups on Tuesday, but this week I will do none. Provo MTC Week 1

Hey everyone this is my first week in the MTC and it's been good so far! I love my district and my companions so it has been super good to see these guys in person. Monday and Tuesday: These days were pretty fun because they were my last 2 days in the home MTC, and they were P-day and a travel day so I got to do a ton of fun stuff with my family before I left. I went golfing with my dad and Calder and we all played pretty bad but it was still super fun. We also went to Maize tacos with some uncles and cousin-uncles for the last time to say goodbye, and that was sad, but it was great to be with everyone who came. Wednesday: Showed up to the MTC and got dropped off which was pretty brutal. It was super sad to say goodbye to everyone. I got to meet my district and branch though and they are all super fun. Hey everyone! This week has probably been my best week in the MTC so far. I feel like I'm really settling into things and starting to learn Mandarin so that's good. I've also been getting super tan from being outside so much so that's been way good. - We have an elder in our district named Elder Godfrey who is super funny. Everyone either calls him Godfrey, Dogfrey, or Rigby (he's from Rigby Idaho). He keeps dropping the most hilarious comments out of nowhere and it's making my day. For example were just talking one night before going to bed and there was a moment where no one talked for a good 2 minutes, and he just chimes right in and says "You know guys sometimes we do the right thing for the wrong reason" he then proceeded to talk about how he just loved to fight people but he doesn't do it in a noble manner most of the time. - We helped escort all of the new elders into the MTC this week and it was such a good time.
